Ayodhya, October 26: Aiming to make the festival of lights grandly a Guinness world record, the Uttar Pradesh government on Saturday evening burnt over 5.50 lakh earthen lamps in Ayodhya's Ram Paidi. It is by far the most lit lamp ever lit anywhere during the Deepotsav – known as Diwali in India. Earlier in 2018, the state government lit three lakh diyas on the banks of the Saryu River on Diwali – a Guinness record to date.

According to the information, the state has earned Rs 130 crore from the lighting of 5.5 lakh diyas.
