His daughter's name is Veeravati. As the days passed, he became more famous and everyone got married. As Veeravati is a daughter, her parents pamper her and all the brothers.

Along with her sister-in-law on Karva Chauth Veeravati, she performed Karva Chauth Puja. Being weak, she fainted in the midst of Pooja. Seeing him in that situation, his brothers felt bad. So one of his brothers, holding a lamp, climbed the tree. Then, when Veeravati regained consciousness, she told that the moon has come and you can break the fast and do something – believing that she broke her fast in between.

After some time, her husband came home dead. Seeing her husband, she feels strange, and she says that she is the reason for his death. Hence, Indra and his wife Indrani came to console him after hearing his lament. Veeravati asks him to resurrect her husband. So he told that he has to perform this puja throughout the year including Karva Chauth. Then they said that her husband would be alive. Hence Veeravati fasted for a whole year and brought her husband alive. This is the history and story behind Karva Chauth.
