New Delhi, December 4: On the special occasion of Indian Navy Day 2019, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday lauded the service and sacrifice of the navy officers of the nation. The Prime Minister took to microblogging site Twitter and shared a video praising the officials of the Indian Navy for making the nation stronger and safer. “On Navy Day, we salute our courageous navy personnel. Before the celebration of Navy Day on December 4, several activities take place across the nation as a part of celebrations of Navy Week. According to history, December 4 was chosen to be celebrated as Indian Navy  Day as on that day in 1971, during Operation Trident, the Indian Navy sank four Pakistani vessels including PNS Khaibar, killing hundreds of Pakistani Navy personnel.
