The festival mainly celebrated the defeat of good to evil. It celebrates the defeat of the demon Ravana and the victory of Lord Rama. In the 16th century, Raja Jagat Singh, in his greed, ordered Durgadatta to hand over his pearls or hang him. Learning this Durgadatta, the king cursed "Whenever you eat, your rice will appear as a worm, and the water will appear as blood". After the end of the kingdom, the king approached a Brahmin to get rid of the curse. The Brahmin suggested that he reclaim the deity of Raghunath from the kingdom of Raga. He sent a Brahmin to Ayodhya with Raghunath's piety. When people found their deity missing, they determined to find it. However, the deity chose his place as Kullu and heaved up as soon as he picked it up to take it back. It was installed in Kullu, and the king's curse was lifted.

Kullu Dussehra is one of the biggest festivals in the country, and millions of people come together to celebrate.
